The District of Columbia Hampton Parents’ Club, Inc. (DCHPC) is a parent/student support group working in partnership with Hampton University and the National Hampton Alumni Association.  The Club was established in October 1969 by Washington, DC area parents and guardians to promote the general welfare and success of their Hampton students.

The DCHPC has grown and changed over the years.  Today, it is respected and fully recognized by Hampton University as a body of parents interested in partnering to provide the best atmosphere for the growth and development of Hampton students.

We are unique in that we provide an avenue for parents to remain actively involved in supporting the education of their children.  Our activities include providing support to DCHPC students; working with the University to resolve issues that may arise during the year; providing discounted bus transportation between Hampton and the DC area for students at Thanksgiving and Spring breaks; networking for career development and student summer employment; and general information sharing.  The DCHPC also awards thousands of dollars in scholarships to the students of participating parents, and to incoming Hampton University freshmen.

Our membership dues are low and our enthusiasm and record of success, high.  Please contact us if you have any questions, or would like more information on partnering with the DCHPC to support Hampton University and its students.

Established over 40 years ago...

with the core mission set by Ms. Evelyn Beam to fully support the DC metropolitan area students enrolled at Hampton University with any resources needed to help students attain a high academic education and wholesome HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) experience.

The DCHPC (DC Hampton Parent Club) club has set goals of:

* Augment our level of membership and member participation

* Provide quality advocacy to our DMV Hampton students for issues and concerns

* Conduct successful fundraisers events to support scholarships

* Increase the number and amount of scholarships offered

* To increase scholarship amounts.

Over the years, the Club has assisted members with a variety of concerns and has been a great network for both the students and parents. I hope that all of you will become members of the DCHPC and participate in all the activities to get the most from your child's time at Hampton University.
